More Fabulous Fascinators

Via Twitter, I recently came across Hatastic who create unique handmade hats, fascinators and hair accessories inspired by the beautiful bits and bobs sourced from remnant boxes and junk shops. All the products are available to purchase via http://www.folksy.com/

If you are a bride looking for something different to wear or something for your bridesmaids or a mother of the bride, Hatastic's designs would be perfect.

Make a statement with jewellery

I love the St Erasmus jewllery created by Pieter Erasmus. He has previously designed for high-end labels as diverse as Givenchy, Matthew Williamson and Roberto Cavalli and now has his own line. His inspiration comes from India and Africa and Pieter creates stand-out pieces using gold and silver thread hand crocheted over glimmering Swarovski crystals.

Michelle Obama recently wore one of his pieces as seen in the picture above.
Here are a few of my favourite designs:

Brillant Jewels

Gillian Million designs and creates bridal jewellery and started her business back in 2002. Brides can have bespoke jewellery made and meet Gillian in person in her studio in Teddington and be involved in designing all the pieces. Or there is now an online shop for those further away.

Fabulous Fascinators

On Saturday, I went on a course at White House Arts where I spent a fun day learning how to make a fascinator. The course was run by Andrew McDonald, a great teacher and painter. This would be a great thing to do as a Hen weekend activity or for those wanting to make their own customised fascinator to wear to a wedding.

For those looking to be inspired even further, the Victoria and Albert Museum are running an Exhibition on Hats till the end of May titled Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones.

Here are a range of fascinators offered by Event Headwear:

For those looking for something more substantial than a fascinator, try Mary Jane Baxter who designs stunning hats and all things millinery. I saw her designs a few years ago at Boudoir Femme.

Exquisite Shoes

One company that I discovered at the Designer Wedding Show was Freya Rose who designs and makes beautiful shoes based in Mayfair. The shoes are handmade and incorporate roses and pearls in the design. They are available in a variety of colours and designs. Beautiful enough to wear after your wedding day!
